Hi all.
Apologies for not updating the blog for such a long time! Of course things have been hectic here, but we have been doing some fun travelling that we would love to let everyone know about.
Needless to say, that takes time... So anyway, until we do get it updated, be sure to check out northernadventure.smugmug.com for all our pictures, which we have actually kept up to date :)
Oh and we are off to Lapland for Xmas! Yay! Assuming no-one slips and breaks anything, it should be a blast!
Toodles!

We Will Rock You
We will, we will Rock You! And we did rock, right to the Tottenham Court Road, Dominion Theatre. Going to the theatre is one of the done things when you come to London, so I'm surprised we held off as long as we did.
We both had a fantastic time, along with Sam and Eion who enjoy Queen’s music as much as we do. The show had a very British slant to it, with all sorts of local in-jokes and references. The lead two characters were both excellent, although personally the leading lady (Hannah Jane Fox), with her biting sarcasm and Northern British cynicism was a stand out performance for me.
Well, we are planning on going to another show… but I can’t decide because there is so many to choose from in London!

Our New “Home Sweet Home”
Well, here we are now settling into our own place. We are renting a 1 bedroom flat in Willesden Green which is in North West London. Our place even has a small garden and a tiny conservatory (just in case we want to do something really Aussie and have a BBQ).
We also have a parking space which is unusual for London, but lucky for us we now we have a new Mini Cooper S (broom broom baby!) to put in that parking space. It is great to have the freedom to go places that the subway just won’t take you and is certainly great for those driving holidays to Wales and Scotland that we are planning. Or pehaps somewhere more Shakespearian...
We will take some nice photos once we have the place looking all shmick.

Regent Street
The shot below is from a recent excursion down Regent St in Central London (taken at Picadilly Circus). Follow this link for more photos from Regent Street. Julie particularily likes this one as it shows off the really cool way the buildings curve around with the street.

Madame Tussauds
So we went on one of our first truly touristy adventures to Madame Tussauds!
We waited in the queue for about 45 minutes and once inside it was amazingly packed full of people. We wanted to take our photos with some of our favourite stars, but it was painfully difficult to arrange a shot. The models themselves ranged from amazingly accurate to a bit average, but overall the experience was well worth the wait in the queue.
Anyway, check out our gallery of photos for all the wax based stardom!

Hatton Garden
This is Hatton Garden - the Diamond District - as it is known. This is just outside of Sam and Eion's house. Click here to see the online album with more photos. Yes, it is wet, no surprises there :)

Welcome!
Hi everyone, thanks for taking the time to visit us!
The purpose of this "Northern Adventure" blog is to keep everyone up to date on our trials and travels around the UK and Europe. We will be updating photos, posting links to anything interesting we find and generally trying to keep a online journal of our adventures.
Obviously this project is still in its infancy, however we would love to hear any feedback or suggestions from our friends and family. Of course if you stumbled across this accidentally, please feel free to say "G'day" as all are welcome!
